Сourt orders Ministry of Defense to restore Sikorskyi's House

The Kyiv District Administrative Court ordered the Ministry of Defense to restore the estate of aircraft designer Sikorskyi on Yaroslaviv Val Street.

UA-Times informs about it, Rubryka reports.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Culture filed a lawsuit.

Thus, according to the decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, the Ministry of Defense, which has the building on the balance, must bring the monument of national importance to proper condition through restoration work.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense explained why the building was not transferred to the municipal property of Kyiv, as the city has repeatedly initiated restoration.

It is noted that all real estate "Hotel Kozatskyi" of the Ministry of Defense (including Sikorskyi's estate) has been seized, and it doesn't allow the transfer of property.

At the same time, the American corporation Sikorsky Aircraft and the Ukrainian business group DCH offered assistance in financing and carrying out the necessary construction work in the house on Yaroslaviv Val Street, where Sikorskyi lived.

The DCH stated that they had sent a letter with a proposal to the Ministry of Defense and the US Embassy in Ukraine.
