In the afternoon of May 13, the Kyiv City Council appealed to the government to transfer Sikorskyi's House to municipal ownership.

Sikorskyi's House is on the balance of the Ministry of Defense.

The capital has been fighting for several years to have it handed over to the city for restoration and the creation of a museum of a prominent aircraft designer.

As reported, the United States is ready to finance the restoration of the estate of aircraft designer Ihor Sikorskyi on Yaroslaviv Val, 15B in Kyiv, if the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine decides to start reconstruction.

Earlier, associations of public activists, scientists, and artists undertook to restore Ihor Sikorskyi's House in Kyiv and make it the Sikor Sky Museum.

Meanwhile, the Kyiv District Administrative Court has filed a lawsuit against the restoration of Sikorskyi's House on Yaroslaviv Val Street in the capital. The plaintiffs are the Deputy Prosecutor General (in the interests of the state) and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the defendants are the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the State Enterprise "Hotel Kozatskyi."

At the request of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection, the Prosecutor General's Office demands that the Ministry of Defense and the state enterprise Hotel Kozatskyi enter into a protection agreement on the national monument and restore Sikorskyi's House within one month from the date of the court's decision.
