Ukrainian State Space Agency plans to create its own spaceport and launch 7 satellites into orbit

In the next few years, Ukraine has several goals in the space industry, including creating its own airfield and launching seven satellites into orbit.

The Head of the State Space Agency Volodymyr Taftai stated this, the Pershyi Dilovyi reports.

The program for the coming years has already been prepared and publicly discussed. After that, this program will have to make the necessary changes, and then it will be sent to local authorities.

Among the primary goals of the State Space:

  • Creating and launching into orbit a group of seven Ukrainian satellites (including "Sich-2-30 (2-1)"), which will probe the surface for defense, economic security, use of natural resources, fire prevention, floods, crop forecasting in rural areas economy;
  • Accession to the European Space Agency;
  • Creation of the Ukrainian spaceport.

Taftai added that implementing this program over the next five years required UAH 15 billion from the budget and funds from investors.
