President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated Ukraine didn't feel the EU's solidarity on coronavirus vaccination of the population.

He stressed this during a Warsaw discussion of five presidents as part of celebrating the 230th anniversary of the Polish Constitution, Ukrinform reports.

"I'll say what I think in the context of equality of European countries: I don't feel it personally, Ukraine doesn't feel solidarity (from the EU on vaccination – ed.)," Zelenskyi said.

According to him, Ukraine hasn't received the vaccine from the European Community despite the EU's declaration.

The President noted Kyiv had agreements with India, the United States, and the United Kingdom on the supply of a coronavirus vaccine.

"Now we have vaccinated a million people, but it's a small number given the population of Ukraine," Zelenskyi said.

According to him, vaccination in the EU began a long time ago, but Ukraine didn't receive assistance from the European Community.

Ukrainian President said that Kyiv had signed an agreement on the supply of 20 million vaccine doses, but would receive it only in the third and fourth quarters.

"It's wrong, it contradicts European values. I think it's unfair," Zelenskyi said.

He added that the active vaccination of Ukrainians should be carried out in the second quarter of this year.

In this regard, the President reminded that at the beginning of the pandemic Ukraine showed solidarity with European countries. Kyiv provided assistance to Italy by providing our medical staff and equipment when the country was the first to feel the effects of the pandemic in the EU.

As Rubryka reported, on May 3, the presidents of Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will take part in events in Warsaw on the occasion of the 230th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania.
