On May 1, Kyiv eases quarantine restrictions

On May 1, Kyiv will ease quarantine restrictions; restaurants and shopping malls will open and transport will return to the usual schedule.

The mayor of the capital Vitalii Klychko informed about it, Rubryka reports.

"This morning, the city's Emergency Commission decided to ease anti-epidemic measures in the capital. We hope that the State Emergency Commission will decide to review the level of epidemic danger and remove the capital from the red zone," Klychko said.

So from May 1, these institutions and organizations will resume work:

  • land public transport and metro in the usual mode (in compliance with certain norms)
  • trade enterprises
  • shopping and entertainment centers
  • markets
  • fairs
  • catering and food venues
  • gyms and fitness centers
  • Administrative service centers (by appointment with electronic services)

On May 5, the city will resume academic activity in schools, preschool, and higher education institutions. The capital will also resume accepting documents for enrolling children in the first grade for the next school year.

"Control over compliance with quarantine rules on the city streets will be extended. Additional patrols of the National Police and the Municipal Guard will be arranged," Klychko said.
