A full-scale war with Ukraine can and should be avoided - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine could and should be avoided.

Lavrov stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

"If it depends on us and the rebels (terrorist groups" DNR "and" LNR "- ed.), as far as we can understand their principled approaches, then war can and should be avoided," Lavrov said.

At the same time, Lavrov noted he could not be responsible for Ukraine and its leader Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

According to him, "looking at external signs, the main thing for Zelenskyi is to stay in power, and he's ready to pay any price, including indulgence to neo-Nazis and ultra-radicals, who continue to declare the Donbas militias terrorists."
