US Secretary of State Blinken will arrive in Ukraine - Media
The administration of US President Joe Biden is preparing to send Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Ukraine in May.
CNN reports, citing a source in the Ukrainian government.
"The fact that the Biden administration is sending its top diplomat to Ukraine a few weeks before a potential summit (between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin – ed.) sends a clear signal that Washington supports the Eastern European nation and values it as an ally," the TV channel reports.
According to Hromadske, Ukrainian officials also hope that Biden will find time to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi before a possible meeting with Putin.
The source believes that Blinken's visit will be another opportunity to discuss a potential meeting between American and Ukrainian leaders while Biden is in Europe this summer.
As reported by Rubryka, during a working visit to Brussels on April 13, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The Secretary of State then assured that the United States would continue to stand firm on Ukraine's side in its opposition to Russian aggression and in the struggle to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
