Winter in the middle of spring: Ukraine covered with snow in the last week of April

Some districts of Poltava, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were covered with snow today.

On April 26, several regions of Ukraine were covered with snow.

The city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region, was buried in snow. There, as of morning, the air temperature dropped to 2 °C, and the landscapes changed from spring to winter, TSN reports.

Snow also covered the Kyiv region. In particular, precipitation was reported in Yahotyn and Obukhiv districts.

The Kyiv-Kharkiv highway was also covered with snow.

Prykarpattia was also covered with snow. Users on social media post photos and videos from the Bukovets Pass in the Verkhovyna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, on Mount Pip Ivan, snow is falling, visibility is low. The frost reaches 5 degrees.

The Chornohora Mountain Search and Rescue Post reported this on its Facebook page.

"As of 07:50, 26.04.2021 on Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi, it's cloudy, snow, low visibility, westerly wind 3-4 m/s. The air temperature is -5 °C," the statement reads.

Weather forecasters promise cloudy and sunny weather in Prykarpattia on April 26. In the mountains, there'll be sleety showers. Deep freeze at night and in the morning – 0-5 °C.

Heavy snow also fell in the morning in the village of Putyla, Chernivtsi region, 0372.ua writes.

The air temperature in the mountain area was also sub-zero and ranged from -1 to -3.

Such weather "surprises" are possible almost all over Ukraine in the coming days. A mass of Arctic air rushed in. Daytime temperatures will range from +7 to +10 degrees. And it will be only a few degrees warmer in the east and south. Frosts up to -5 degrees are expected at night.
