People's Deputy Honcharenko ruled out of order at PACE meeting
PACE President Hendrik Daems stopped the speech of People's Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko and threatened disciplinary sanctions for showing the shot-through flag of Ukraine from the front in Donbas.
The people's deputy informed about it on Telegram, Rubryka reports.
According to the People's Deputy, the strategic priorities of the Assembly were discussed during today's PACE session.
"I decided to remind that for some reason, the draft report doesn't say a word about the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the member states of the Council of Europe, about the peaceful resolution of conflicts in Europe. And this at a time when war is raging in Europe and eastern Ukraine!
I showed the flag of Ukraine with holes from Russian bullets. The flag of a soldier who fought in Donbas. And after that, PACE President Hendrik Daems stopped my speech and threatened disciplinary sanctions! You can see everything in the video.
During her speech today, Ms. Merkel stressed that the PACE was the 'conscience of Europe.' For how many Russian silver coins did they sell this conscience?" the people's deputy wrote.
As reported earlier, the Baltic+ group initiated the signing of a PACE statement condemning Russia's actions.
