Ukrainian consul detained in Russia
The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation confirmed the detention of the consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine Oleksandr Sosonyuk.
According to Interfax, he was detained "when transmitting classified information from the bases of Russian law enforcement agencies".
"This activity is incompatible with the status of a diplomatic worker and is clearly hostile to the Russian Federation. Measures will be applied to a foreign diplomat in accordance with international law, "the Russian special services stated.
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stated that they are already preparing a response.
This was told by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin, as UNN informs.
"Another provocation of the aggressor state against Ukraine with the background of military escalation along the borders of Ukraine and on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. In accordance with existing practice and on the basis of the principle of reciprocity, the Ukrainian side is preparing a response to Russian diplomats", said Yenin.
