French president believes Russia's actions threaten Ukraine's sovereignty

French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Russia's actions near Ukraine's border are aimed at threatening its sovereignty.

AFP reports.

Macron's office believes that "Ukraine's sovereignty is currently under threat."

They added that all the work of the French president's office "is aimed at preventing escalation and easing tensions."

As Rubryka reported, the President's program will include meetings in two formats.

It is planned that at 13.15 local time (14.15 Kyiv time – ed.), the President of Ukraine will be met at the Elysee Palace by the President of France Emmanuel Macron.

The leaders will then hold bilateral talks during a working lunch.

The parties plan to discuss issues of bilateral French-Ukrainian cooperation, relations between Ukraine and the European Union, including the implementation of the Association Agreement.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will join the leaders of Ukraine and France in a video conference format at 3 p.m.

The three leaders will continue discussions, with the security situation in eastern Ukraine and the political and diplomatic processes settling in the region as the main issues.

According to the Elysee Palace, France considers the visit of the President of Ukraine to be extremely important.
