Stepanov explains a National Coronavirus Vaccination Plan

The national vaccination plan considers raising the issue of vaccination to a higher level.

The Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stated this on the air of the "Svoboda Slova" program on the ICTV TV channel, Ukrinform reports.

"When we talk about our vaccination roadmap, the national plan, which includes 5 stages of vaccination, is a document approved by the Ministry of Health, and valid throughout the country. It has a more medical aspect because vaccination is a medical action.

When we talk about the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, implemented by presidential decree, it's, on the contrary, raising the issue of vaccination to a higher level, by joining other ministries, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a ministry that will now help receive and deliver vaccines, and regional state administrations, local governments," Stepanov told.

He added that there would be a corresponding integration into the new plan of the current vaccination roadmap, considering all stages, all risk groups that should be vaccinated first.

The National Vaccination Plan, which is to be established by presidential decree, will also clearly stipulate the number of vaccinated by month.

Thus, according to Stepanov, by the end of 2021, the vast majority of the population of Ukraine should be vaccinated to form a collective immunity.

As reported by Rubryka, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of April 2, 2021 "On the National Plan for vaccination of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, by the end of 2021."

According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must ensure the development and approval of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan within seven days, considering the best international experience, the required minimum number of vaccinations, identified sources, and deadlines for vaccine deliveries, and persons responsible for implementing the plan.
