1st day of lockdown in Kyiv: traffic jams paralyze the city, and taxi prices explode
This morning, taxi prices in Kyiv have spiked, since one can use public transport only with special passes as from today.

Only holders of special passes can now use them: employees of critical city infrastructure. But even such passengers should occupy no more than 50% of the technical capacity of transport.
Data from Uklon, Bolt, and Uber taxi rental services show that prices have risen significantly due to increased demand. For example, a trip from the Pochaina metro station to Independence Square will cost at least UAH 200, from Pozniaky to Kontraktova Square, more than UAH 400, and from the Vasylkivska metro station to the Golden Gate, from UAH 250.
At the same time, it's hard to call a taxi now, because there aren't enough cars.

As for traffic jams, according to UNIAN, they formed on all bridges across the Dnieper. The most difficult situation is on the Pivnichnyi Bridge. At the entrance to the bridge from the Troieshchyna, there were two accidents.
The main highways are blocked on the right bank. So three road accidents at once around the metro stations of Zhytomyrska and Sviatoshyn provoked a multi-kilometer traffic jam on Peremohy Avenue in both directions. Also, multiple accidents provoked problems with traffic in both directions on the Ring Road.
Kurbasa Ave., Lubomyra Husara Ave., Telihy Str., Vadyma Hetmana Str., Scherbakivskoho Str., Skliarenka Str., Stepana Bandery Ave., Valeriia Lobanovskoho Ave. and Holosiivskyi Ave. towards the center became "red" from jams.
Traffic slowed on Naddniprianske Highway, Naberezhne Highway, Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Str. and Naberezhno-Rybalska Str..
On the Left Bank, traffic jams formed at the entrances to the bridges.
On Brovarskyi Avenue, the tangle started long before the Lisova metro station. Also Perova Ave., Vyzvolyteliv Ave., Myropilska Str., Bratyslavska Str., Haharina Ave. and Sobornosti Ave. became "red" from traffic jams.
A multi-kilometer traffic jam formed on Bazhana Avenue towards the Right Bank. Here, difficulties with traffic are observed from the Vyrlytsia metro station and to the Pivdenyi Bridge.
