Markarova spoke about organizing the meeting between Zelenskyi and Biden

Ukrainian diplomats and representatives of the Office of the President are working to arrange a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and his American colleague Joe Biden.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova stated this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

"Both I and the Ministry and the Office of the President are actively working on organizing visits. Our visits to the United States at various levels, of course, the President's visit, so the invitations for American officials and, of course, the President (of United States) to visit Ukraine," she noted.

Markarova explained the pandemic was hindering the holding of personal meetings of high-ranking officials.

According to her, the visits depend very much not only on the political will or schedules of politicians but also on the situation with Covid-19.

Markarova also said that Ukraine, despite the scandals, had maintained bipartisan support in the United States.

To recap, on April 2, Presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a long-awaited telephone conversation.
