Ukraine has become the first country where digital passports will have the same legal power as paper ones.
The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced.
"Well, that's it! 302 votes! We're the first country in the world to equate electronic passports to ordinary ones!" he wrote.
"Yes, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law on digital passports in the second reading! It means that digital documents in Diia app will have the same legal power as their plastic or paper counterparts.
Less than a year ago, we launched the world's first electronic passports in Diia, and today they're recognized at the state level!" Diia reported.
