China demands that Ukraine protect Chinese investors' interests regarding Motor Sich

The Chinese Foreign Ministry states it has "taken note" of the statements of the Ukrainian authorities on returning Motor Sich to state ownership and demands that the interests of Chinese companies and investors be protected.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying stated this, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

"We've taken note of the statements (regarding the return of Motor Sich to state ownership – ed.). China demands that Ukraine protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and investors under the law and properly address related issues," the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed.

As Rubryka reported, on March 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of March 11 on measures to protect national interests in the field of aircraft engines.

On March 11, at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, a decision was made to return PJSC Motor Sich to state ownership "legally and soon," and people who invested in the company will receive compensation.

On March 25, Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, claimed that Motor Sich would return to state ownership, but that the company hadn't been nationalized.
