Activities of so-called "DNR mission" in France declared illegal

The Court of Appeal found the activities of the DNR Representative Center in Marseilles illegal.

Ukrinform reports.

On Tuesday, March 23, the Court of Appeal of the city of Aix-en-Provence, near Marseilles, issued the first decision declaring the activities of the so-called representative center of the DNR illegal.

In 2017, the French prosecutor's office already challenged in court the activities of a public association that pretended to be a "DNR consulate" in Marseilles. Then the court of the first instance rejected the claims of the French authorities.

An appeal against this decision began on February 16, 2021, in the city's court of Aix-en-Provence.

The so-called DNR office in Marseilles was opened on September 25, 2017, as a public association. The opening was attended by several marginal French politicians, public figures, and Russian journalists.

The center was headed by Hubert Fayard, who was proclaimed "honorary representative of the DNR" in France.

In April 2019, Fayard was accused of pimping and arrested.

"I confirm officially: the Court of Appeal in France closed the so-called "DNR center" in Marseilles, declared it insignificant, and it founded illegally. The association will be dissolved, its premises closed, and meetings of members prohibited. We fought for it for a long time and won. I'm grateful to the court for a fair decision," Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated on Twitter.
