Security support and building a military partnership is one of the priorities in Ukraine's cooperation with the United States.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova told about it on the Ukraine 24 channel.

According to Markarova, such a task was assigned to her by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

"The task is quite big in the security field. It, of course, includes the issues of building the capabilities of our army, armaments, and all elements of such capabilities, so that we're self-sufficient, and meet NATO standards. Of course, joining NATO is our priority as Ukraine, and here our strategic partner (USA – ed.) can play a huge role, in particular, to bring us closer to our priority. These are new challenges: countering fakes, propaganda, various cyber threats," the ambassador said.

Markarova will also discuss the issue of the "Russkiy Donbass" doctrine with the US leadership.

Earlier, Zelenskyi signed Decree № 75/2021 on the appointment of Oksana Markarova as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America.
