Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with Netanyahu

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.

The press service of the Office of the President reports.

The parties discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda and outlined further areas of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Israel.

Particular attention was paid to combating the spread of COVID-19. The President of Ukraine noted the significant progress made by the Government of Israel in vaccinating the country's population and stressed the importance of ensuring equal access to certified vaccines.

"Thank you for your help, for your willingness to help speed up the supply of vaccines," Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.

The parties stressed their interest in the initiative of mutual recognition of vaccination certificates—"green passports"—to restore tourist flows and scheduled flights between Ukraine and Israel.

"Green passports open up opportunities for travel between Ukraine and Israel," the President said.

Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that mutual recognition of "green passports" would be beneficial for the economies of both countries.

The parties also discussed the situation in Donbas and the efforts of the Government of Ukraine to achieve a peaceful settlement within the Minsk process.

The President of Ukraine thanked the Prime Minister of Israel for the strong position of the Israeli government in support of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity and invited Benjamin Netanyahu to take part in official events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
