Stepanov: vaccination in Ukraine isn't going according to plan

In Ukraine, the process of vaccination against coronavirus isn't going according to plan. At the end of last week, the country planned to vaccinate 10,000 people a day, but it reached 3,000 vaccinated.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated at a briefing.

According to him, since the beginning of vaccination, on February 24, 19,118 people have been vaccinated in Ukraine.

"I'm not happy with these numbers. I set a different goal for the rate of vaccination, realizing that we were cascading this vaccination. I can say that at the end of last week we had to reach 10,000 people a day, whom we had to vaccinate. And continue to increase this number. So far we have reached a little more than 3 thousand," Stepanov said.

The minister added that in this regard, he decided to personally intervene in the situation to "significantly increase the number of vaccinated in the coming days."

"Today we'll hold a selector which heads of regional administrations, representatives of the President's Office and health departments, coordinators will attend. The more we vaccinate people, the more we are protected," he added.
