Ukraine will start COVID-19 vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine made in India, vaccination will begin by the end of the week.
The Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov reported about it on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel on Wednesday evening.
"I think the first thing we will start with is the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is produced by the Serum Institute (India)," he said.
Stepanov clarified that 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine should arrive in Ukraine by the end of the week.
"By the end of the week, they should be in Ukraine. The issues of logistics, shipment directly from India, aircraft freight, etc. are being resolved there," he said.
He recalled that the British procurement agency Crown Agents is in charge of logistics, but the Ministry of Health was in constant contact with the vaccine manufacturer, Serum Institute.
