Rada calls on the world to increase sanctions pressure on Russia over Crimea occupation

The Verkhovna Rada calls on the UN, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe, the OSCE, NATO, the BSEC, governments, and parliaments of the world to condemn the Russian Federation's actions against Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty and increase political, diplomatic and sanctions pressure on Russia till the armed aggression ends.

314 people's deputies voted for the relevant resolution №4655.

People's deputies ask international organizations to continue the policy of non-recognizing the attempted annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol and to use all international political-diplomatic mechanisms and sanctions against Russia to immediately release all those captured during the armed aggression against Ukraine, other citizens of Ukraine, illegally detained by the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in Russia.

Deputies also demand to condemn the violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms by the Russian occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territories, to demand that the Russian Federation stop the forcible transfer of illegally convicted Ukrainian citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Sevastopol to penitentiary institutions, located on the territory of the aggressor-country.

People's deputies also call on international institutions to demand that Russia stop the deportation of civilians from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Sevastopol and the movement of Russian citizens to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, "leading to a change in the demographic composition of the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Sevastopol."

The parliamentarians also believe that it is necessary to demand from the Russian Federation to ensure unimpeded access of international human rights organizations to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for constant monitoring of the human rights situation.
