Shmyhal: Ukraine will receive 117 thousand doses of vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech in February
Vaccination of Ukrainians will begin in February and will be provided under the COVAX program.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this.
According to him, Ukraine will receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the amount of 117,000 doses. However, first and foremost, doctors who are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus will be vaccinated.
"Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines are just the beginning, and we expect much larger deliveries in February-early March," the prime minister said.
Shmyhal also assured that only a tested and safe vaccine, which had passed all the necessary clinical trials and was approved in other developed countries, would be imported to Ukraine. He also promised that everyone who wants to make a free and safe vaccine would be given this opportunity under the National Vaccination Plan.
