Ministry of Health announces signing of contract for supply of another COVID vaccine

The Ministry of Health plans to sign an agreement with another supplier of COVID-19 vaccines soon.

Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov announced this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"When we started developing a COVID-19 vaccination strategy, we immediately determined that the Ministry of Health shouldn't make any purchases on its own. Medical Procurement of Ukraine (MUU) signed the contract with the first manufacturer, Sinovac. At the time of signing the procurement contract, two companies showed willingness. We signed a contract with one of them (Sinovac), and we will sign a contract with another company soon," Stepanov said.

However, Minister stressed he couldn't name the company because of the confidentiality agreement.

"Disclosure of any information before the signing of the contract will lead to the breakdown of agreements; these are the conditions of cooperation. Immediately after signing the supply contract, I will provide all the details," he said.

According to Stepanov, this purchase will be made not through MCU, but through another provider.
