Kyiv authorities want to resume school work from January 25

Kyiv authorities are ready to resume education in all schools of the city from January 25.

Vitalii Klychko announced this at a briefing.

"Given that the strict quarantine ends at the end of this week, the government must decide how students will continue to study. We're set to resume schooling in all schools in the city from January 25. The primary school from grades 1 to 4 will also return to the educational process," Klychko said.

He also said that senior students, especially graduates, should return to study to properly prepare for certification, external independent testing, and entering higher education institutions.

He reminded that the mechanism of changes to the educational process in the capital had been worked out.

"If needed, if the epidemiological situation worsens, we will apply a mixed system of education. It's when not all students will study with distance learning," he said.

According to him, the city authorities will decide to terminate education in certain classes and schools, based on the situation with the disease, i.e. the management of institutions will close schools or certain classes for quarantine.

At the same time, he said that the capital's kindergartens would continue to operate normally.
