"But let me assure you of one thing: the United States will remain steadfast in its support for a prosperous, democratic, and free Ukraine that must be protected within its internationally recognized borders, including Donbas and Crimea, and resilient to Russian aggression," the statement said on the occasion of the inauguration of the President of the United States.

Earlier, Joe Biden was sworn in as President of the United States and officially became the 46th leader of the United States.

"I solemnly swear that I will uphold and protect the United States Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic, that I must bear true faith and devotion to it; that I accept this duty freely, with no mental reservations or goals; and that I will perform well and honestly the duties associated with the position I intend to take. God help me," Harris said.
