Swedish company applies for testing a coronavirus drug in Ukraine

The Swedish company Cyxone has applied for the second phase of trials in Ukraine of Rabeximod, treating arthritis and also used to treat COVID-19.

It's stated in the press release of the company.

The company has submitted similar applications to the regulatory authorities of Slovakia and Hungary.

Cyxone received body approval at the beginning of the second phase of the study in Poland.

The study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of drug treatment to prevent the progression of COVID-19 and accelerate recovery.

The process will involve 300 patients from clinical centers in Poland and three other European countries.

The effectiveness of the drug is evaluated in patients with moderate COVID-19.

The company plans to announce preliminary results in the third quarter of 2021.

If the result is positive, Cyxone intends to apply for an emergency use permit.
