Ministry of Defense declares 2021 the year of Euro-Atlantic transformation
The result of the transformation processes in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces will be the creation of an integrated defense institution of the Euro-Atlantic type.
It was discussed during a videoconference between the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran and a group of foreign advisers at the strategic level, the Defense Ministry reports.
"For implementing internal reforms, we focus on NATO standards, as they are the best in the military sphere. Therefore, the decision to enlarge the board of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which took place on December 22, 2020, declared 2021 the year of Euro-Atlantic transformation," Taran said.
The participants of the discussion supported the decision of the board of the Ministry of Defense to conduct a comprehensive functional review of the defense management system.
The review should ensure a smooth transition of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces to new standards of functioning and management processes.
According to Taran, inviting representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Verkhovna Rada, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to participate in a comprehensive functional review of the defense management system will guarantee its impartiality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
