British agency will purchase COVID vaccines for Ukraine
The British agency Crown Agents will handle purchasing the COVID-19 vaccine; such a decision was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet.
Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing.
"At an extraordinary meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers established that the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines will be carried out by the international organization Crown Agents. It'll have the authority, in particular, to conclude contracts under the negotiations conducted by the Ministry of Health and the leadership of the state and provide logistical support," Stepanov said.
He added that the company would rely on the criteria of delivery time, quality, and effectiveness of the vaccine.
Stepanov recalled that the Ministry of Health had been cooperating with Crown Agents since 2015; according to him, the agency purchases COVID-19 vaccines for various countries, including the United Kingdom.
For Ukraine, Crown Agents buy medicines and medical devices. In 2020, they made purchases, in particular, in the areas of pediatric oncology and dialysis.
