Ukrainian military ranks replaced with NATO military rank codes

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran signed a decree on transferring Ukrainian military ranks to the codes of NATO military ranks according to the NATO standard STANAG 2116.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

"This list establishes the codification of the military ranks of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with NATO military ranks. This is another step that ensures interoperability with the armed forces of member states."

According to the Minister, the signed order begins the Euro-Atlantic transformation of the existing personnel management system to the management of the careers of servicemen by military ranks. In turn, it'll be an integral part of the draft Concept of Military Personnel Policy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2025.

"These decisions are designed to change the Soviet-style career management system to a modern one, adopted in the armies of leading states. In fact, this guide to the actions of personnel bodies to move to a new philosophy of work, training, growth, and provision," Taran said.
