Kuleba names TOP-7 Foreign Ministry's priorities in 2021: counteraction to Russian aggression, Crimean platform and strengthening in Africa

The key priorities of the Foreign Ministry for 2021 are countering Russian aggression, fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, launching the Crimean Platform, developing a new policy on relations with foreign Ukrainians, promoting exports, energy, and access to the African continent.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced this during an online briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"Today I want to define the TOP-7 priorities and tasks of Ukrainian diplomacy for next year. Some of them will continue what we worked on this year, some will show a new quality. This is what we worked on, what we were preparing, to expand its activities at full capacity in the new year," he said.

Minister called the first of the key priorities to counteract Russian aggression and strengthen Ukraine's security.

Kuleba's second priority was assistance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and the third was the launch of the Crimean platform.

In addition, he considers the development and creation of a new effective Ukrainian policy towards foreign Ukrainians to be the fourth priority of Ukrainian diplomacy in 2021.

"The need for such a policy is overdue, we need to bring interaction with foreign Ukrainians to a qualitatively new level," the minister explained.

He also noted that the fifth and sixth priorities are the promotion and increase of Ukrainian exports in the world, attracting investment and energy, including maintaining and strengthening positions in renewable energy, and in hydrogen energy.

"Energy is not a purely economic issue. It is a matter of politics now. And those who lose time in transitioning to a green economy, and the distance in their development will lose their position in the world," Kuleba said.

He also added that the seventh priority of the Foreign Ministry is to strengthen Ukraine on the African continent.
