The leader of the "Servant of the People" party, Davyd Arakhamia, notes that the medical cannabis legalization issue can now be resolved without adopting a law, but by acts of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Arakhamia spoke about this at a press conference on Tuesday.
"Almost everything is ready there. We were waiting for the change of the veterans' minister, they also have a position… We decided that we can solve this issue without the law draft but by the Cabinet's acts. The so-called red recipe exists. The red recipe is all the opiates; they'll be purchased with a red prescription. We just need to add all the medicines that cancer patients or people with other diseases need to this list," the deputy said.
Arakhamia clarified that they meant expanding the list of such drugs with medical cannabis of foreign production and testing it for three or four months.
"If it doesn't cause, and I believe that it won't cause problems, then we can already consider localization in parliament, i.e. production of these drugs in Ukraine, and for now imported drugs can fulfill this goal," Arakhamia said.
He added that the decision could be made before the New Year or in mid-January.
