Epiphanius spoke about OCU position on marijuana legalization
Metropolitan Epiphanius stated that the Orthodox Church of Ukraine considered it possible to legalize cannabis only if it's used for medical purposes.
Radio Svoboda reports.
According to the head of the OCU, cannabis legalization in Ukraine is possible only if it's used for medical purposes.
"If it's used purely for beneficial, medical purposes and isn't abused as a drug. Because, meeting with Prime Minister and the President of Ukraine, we stressed that if it's allowed, it need not lead to disastrous consequences. So it wouldn't allow drug addiction to flourish in the Ukrainian state in the future under the guise of a medical permit," Epiphanius said.
