Foreign Ministry sends a note to Moscow because of latest "humanitarian convoy" to Donbas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a note of protest to Russia in connection with the latest sending of the so-called humanitarian cargo to the occupied Donbas in violation of the Ukrainian legislation.

Foreign Ministry reports in a comment.

As noted, the illegal movement took place through the Russian border checkpoints "Donetsk" and "Matveyev Kurgan" and the checkpoints "Izvaryne" and "Uspenka" closed by Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Russian party made it impossible for Ukrainian border guards and customs officers to carry out mandatory control procedures provided for by the legislation of Ukraine and norms of international law.

"Given the above, a note of protest was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation demanding that Russia adhere to its international obligations, including bilateral agreements, previously agreed modalities of delivering humanitarian goods," the Foreign Ministry reported.

The Ukrainian party also reiterated the need to send them under the Ukrainian legislation further on and through the border checkpoints controlled by Ukraine.
