Zelenskyi asks parliament to allow foreign troops to exercises in Ukraine next year

President Volodymyr Zelensky asks the Verkhovna Rada to approve his draft law on the admission of other states' armed force units to the territory of Ukraine in 2021 to take part in multinational exercises.

As noted, the draft law was developed by the Ministry of Defense and agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Justice and the Security Service.

It is planned to spend over 38.5 million hryvnias on these exercises, which will be taken from the annual budget of the Ministry of Defense.

The law draft is currently being considered by the leadership of the Rada and committee.

Zelenskyi asks to allow foreign troops to participate in:

  • Ukrainian-American exercise "Rapid Trident – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-British exercise "Kozak Mace – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-American exercise "Sea Breeze – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-Romanian exercise "Riverine – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-British exercise "Warrior Watcher – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-Polish exercise "Three Swords – 2021"
  • Ukrainian-Polish exercise "Silver Saber – 2021"
