Zelenskyi is going on vacation for New Year - Mendel
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Office of the President are going on a short New Year's holiday.
Zelenskyi's spokeswoman Yulia Mendel stated this in a comment to "KP in Ukraine."
Mendel said that Zelenskyi hadn't yet recorded a New Year's greeting to Ukrainians, but preparations were already underway. The press secretary didn't disclose the details of his address but spoke about the head of state's plans for the winter holidays.
In particular, in the coming days, the president and his wife will take part in the opening of a Christmas tree on Bankova.
"The president and the first lady will light a Christmas tree near the President's Office. The decorations for this Christmas tree will be very special, with an exclusive and important value history," Mendel said.
The date and time of this event will be announced later.
She also said that the president would have a brief break for the New Year.
"Both the president and his office will have several days off. But the head of state always stays in touch and will work if needed. Today, thanks to technology developments, it's possible to organize communication, gather a meeting, and discuss important events quickly. The president always reacts to developments and makes decisions quickly. The day off cannot be the reason for the president's lack of reaction if something important happens to the country," Mendel summed up.
