Helping business in quarantine: Entrepreneurs’ applications for compensation to be accepted from December 14

According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, the government's plan is to provide assistance before the start of the lockdown, and in fact, until December 30, within the budget funds available for the current year. He added that they concentrated UAH 12 billion in the COVID-19 Combating Fund for these purposes. They plan that state aid will cover about 1.7 million entrepreneurs.

The entrepreneurs must submit the application in question by December 21. The Ministry of Digital Transformation will form the list for payment according to the submitted applications and transfer the data to the Pension Fund. They will process all applications by December 24, after which payments will begin.

According to Kachka, they will give UAH 8,000 of one-time state aid to those sole proprietors who regularly paid taxes, UST, and their main activity (Industry Classification System) fell under the list of prohibitions and restrictions for the quarantine period, and therefore they lost profits in full or in part. They also consider that a significant portion of state aid will be paid to employees who have lost their salaries because of quarantine.

"This program will cover people who have worked legally. That is, the people who are quite transparent to the state, to the authorities," Kachka said, explaining how the state intends to control recipients.

To recap, the state will pay 8 thousand UAH to the sole proprietors who suffered because of quarantine, and also will write off separate debts on tax payment, compensates expenses on payment of UST. It's provided by the laws passed by the Verkhovna Rada on December 4 and signed by President Zelenskyi on December 7.
