Yermak's deputy discussed US-Ukrainian defense cooperation with Kristina Kvien

Roman Mashovets, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, met with Kristina Kvien, US Chargé d'affaires in Ukraine.

The parties discussed the prospects and ways to develop relations between Ukraine and the United States in the security, defense, military-economic, and military-technical fields. They paid particular attention to the possibilities of structuring the existing bilateral formats of cooperation and experience exchange on national security and defense, important for both countries.

Roman Mashovets stressed the need of expanding cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and the US providing support and practical assistance. He reported on the steps taken by the President's Office to create an effective national stability system.

Kristina Kvien reaffirmed the continued US support of Ukraine, in particular within the US national security and defense assistance package, and noted the importance of continuing defense reforms in Ukraine to maximize the effectiveness of military help from the United States.
