UN General Assembly adopts Ukraine's draft resolution on militarization of Crimea

The United Nations General Assembly has supported Ukraine's updated resolution on the militarization of the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula.

Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhii Kyslytsia announced this.

On Monday, December 7, the UN General Assembly considered a draft resolution "The problem of the militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine, and parts of the Black and Azov Seas."

Following the review, they adopted the resolution. 63 countries supported the resolution, 17 countries voted against it; 62 abstained.

The following countries voted against it: Armenia, Belarus, Cambodia, Cuba, North Korea, China, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar, Nicaragua, the Russian Federation, Serbia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
