Ukraine and Switzerland sign memorandum on production of ventilators in Khmelnytskyi
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna and Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine and Moldova Claude Wild signed an intergovernmental Memorandum on the project "Creation of a budget ventilator in response to the challenges of COVID-19."
The Government portal reports.
As noted, it will attract a grant of up to 1.5 million Swiss francs (over 1.6 million US dollars) for constructing a production line for producing lung ventilators in Khmelnytskyi.
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich developed the devices. Production will take place based on the state enterprise "Novator," a part of Ukroboronprom and a certified manufacturer of medical equipment in Ukraine.
"It's also important that this decision will support Ukraine's economy. This format of production localization allows us to create new jobs, provide an exchange of experience and technologies and, strengthen our cooperation with international partners," Stefanishyna said.
