Rada spoke about plans to eliminate the political crisis
People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, the representative of the Council in the CCU Olha Sovhyria told how the Verkhovna Rada was going to act to eliminate the crisis after the CCU's decision on anti-corruption legislation.
"Ukraine 24" reports.
"Just a few minutes ago, a law draft was introduced to restore criminal liability for false declarations. We expect that representatives of all the parliamentary parties that were part of the working group to develop this law draft will sign it. It's a compromise; we have reached an agreed position, and I hope that the Verkhovna Rada will consider it.
At the Coordination Board, the Verkhovna Rada Speaker has voiced the position that both the law draft introduced by the President and the law draft registered by the working group will be drafted by a profile committee and a third version may be submitted based on them," she said.
According to Sovhyria, it's necessary to pass this law by the end of 2020.
"It's important to register the law draft, which no party will have an issue with. This will allow to vote for a law draft as a basis and be adopted quickly. If there are comments, we can't apply the procedure and will have to vote in the first reading, in the second reading, and so on.
We are only taking the first step now; there's still a lot of work to be done. It concerns returning electronic declaration, NAPC powers, and the peculiarities for judges," the deputy added.
