The Cabinet of Ministers agreed on the date of introducing lockdown. Severe restrictions will apply from December 23 to January 15.

The Cabinet of Ministers' source told Segodnya.

"The option for two weeks was rejected. We stopped at the dates from December 23 to January 15. Details will be available this Wednesday," the source said.

Earlier, Arakhamia stated that the new lockdown would be "intelligent."

"Perhaps Arakhamia meant the support for quarantine and rapid response to change," the government party shared to mass media.

We should note that the Cabinet of Ministers has prepared a support program for businesses and employees. Employees and entrepreneurs will receive UAH 8,000 one-time assistance during the lockdown. The Verkhovna Rada has yet to vote for this program.

The new lockdown will replace the weekend quarantine, which was in effect from 14 to 30 November. Authorities administered it, hoping to reduce the incidence of COVID-19 and avoid a complete lockdown.

Until the new decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, orange quarantine zone restrictions apply throughout Ukraine.

To recap, earlier Arakhamia stated that lockdown in Ukraine can last 2-3 weeks.

Arakhamia also told when to expect a lockdown.
