"Violence is not the norm; it has no excuses" - Zelenska and ministers recorded a video for initiative against violence

On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, First Lady Olena Zelenska published a video appealing "Do not keep silent about domestic violence!"

Minister of European Integration Olha Stefanishyna, Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebna, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko took part in the video.

"Today, the global initiative "16 Days Against Violence" starts. Its goal is to draw public attention to a problem often silenced and tolerated.

Violence has many faces. But let's be honest! Restricting freedom of choice is not a manifestation of care, and psychological pressure is not an education form or a will to harden the character, and beating is not proof of love.

My appeal to everyone: do not accept domestic violence as the norm, do not keep silent, do not turn away from those who need help. The norm is zero tolerance for violence, and everyone can follow it," Olena Zelenska wrote.
