President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with the Chairperson of the Venice Commission, Gianni Buquicchio, about finding an effective solution to the constitutional crisis in Ukraine.

The press service of the President's Office reports.

Gianni Buquicchio agreed that resolving the constitutional crisis requires swift action and should be based on the rule of law.

Zelenskyi, on the other hand, stressed that trust in the court has been destroyed, so it's very important to restore it now.

"I propose to intensify work on finding a balanced, comprehensive solution to resolve the crisis quickly and effectively," the head of state suggested.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi appealed to the Venice Commission regarding its expertise in explaining how to avoid the decision of the CCU of October 27, not making inevitable damage to anti-corruption reform.

The parties also discussed the urgent need to develop the law drafts to restore the punishment for submitting unverified information in declarations and ensure the full operation of the NAPC and NABU. They also focused on comprehensive judicial reform, including reforming the mechanism for selecting judges, and the High Qualifications Commission of Judges.
