"It's a historic opportunity for judicial reform," G7 ambassadors said after meeting with Zelenskyi

During a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the ambassadors of the G7 countries reaffirmed the urgent need for action to overcome the constitutional crisis and avoid further rollback of Ukrainian anti-corruption reforms.

Diplomats stated this in a statement posted on Twitter by the US presidency of the G7 ambassadors' group.

"G7 Ambassadors met with President Zelenskyi yesterday, reaffirming the urgent need for widely supported actions to address the negative consequences of recent CCU decisions and avoid further rollback of Ukraine's anti-corruption reforms," the diplomats said.

The G7 ambassadors added both sides agreed on the need to ensure a fair and transparent selection of CCU judges.

"This is a historic opportunity to achieve judicial reform that meets the expectations of the Ukrainian people," diplomats said.

To recap, on November 19, Volodymyr Zelenskyi presented to the G7 and EU ambassadors the ways out of the constitutional crisis in Ukraine and stated that we should restore criminal liability for false information in declarations, return control functions to NAPC, and resolve the CCU issue by the end of the year.
