"We should unfreeze bilateral relations with Ukraine" - Sandu met with Ukrainian Ambassador in Moldova

The President-elect of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, called for unfreezing bilateral relations with Ukraine.

She stated this during a meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine Marko Shevchenko, the Facebook page of the "Action and Solidarity" political party reports.

It is noted that Sandu thanked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi for the congratulations. The parties discussed the current situation in the Republic of Moldova and the need for close cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, Sandu also stressed the importance of developing a strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

"We have many common problems and many opportunities that we can implement together. We must bring Moldova out of isolation and immediately unfreeze bilateral relations with Ukraine. We discussed synchronizing the activities in the European integration process," Sandu said.

President-elect Maia Sandu stressed that the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine have a large agenda that they will restore soon.

As reported, Maia Sandu won the second round of elections in Moldova against pro-Russian President Igor Dodon, gaining 57.75% of the vote.

She stated she wanted to have a pragmatic dialogue with all countries, including Ukraine.
