The Ministry of Health will be able to assess the effectiveness of the weekend quarantine with the dynamics of hospitalizations in two weeks.

Deputy Health Minister Iryna Mykychak stated this at a briefing.

"We will evaluate the effectiveness of the weekend quarantine according to the dynamics of hospitalization. It takes 10-14 days. After assessing how the weekend quarantine works, we will propose the next steps, the next solutions," Mykychak said.

She stressed that the weekend quarantine is designed to break the chain of the disease spreading and reduce the loading on the health care system.

According to her, non-compliance with the weekend quarantine in some cities endangers the business that they want to protect and increases the loading on doctors.

The Deputy Minister stressed that hospitals lack not only doctors but also the middle and junior staff, and technical staff.

"We, doctors, offer small and medium-sized businesses to turn problems into new opportunities … We just ask you to look around and find other additional income you can earn during quarantine by providing services remotely … Our hospitals will be happy to provide temporary jobs to all small entrepreneurs being in forced downtime now. Hospitals and emergency care centers direly need strong and healthy workers: economists, accountants, paramedics, technicians, laundry and kitchen workers, drivers, caretakers, janitors, and handypersons. Help the medical field to survive and save the life of each one of us," Mykychak said.
