The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

The head of state is feeling well and will continue to perform his duties remotely in self-isolation, the President's Office writes.

"There aren't lucky people in the world for whom #COVID19 is not a threat. Despite all the quarantine measures, I also got a + result. I have 37.5, and I wish everyone 36.6! However, I feel well. I promise to be isolated and continue to work. Most people overcome COVID-19. And I will go through it too. Everything will be fine!" Zelenskyi comments on his illness.

The Office of the President said he would always have communication tools and equipment needed.

"The Head of the President's Office, his deputies, and employees of the Office take PCR tests regularly. Fortunately, Yuliia Kovalev has already tested negative and works as usual with quarantine restrictions. We will report on the condition of the President and employees of the Office.

We urge citizens to adhere to the quarantine: do not forget about masks and social distance.

Coronavirus infection can end differently for each of us. The authorities will do everything possible to ensure that COVID-19 causes the least possible damage to society and the state," the statement reads.

The Head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, also contracted the coronavirus.

He wrote about this on Facebook.

"At the end of the working day I received too much "positive" news: I have a positive test for coronavirus, but I feel fine.

A video meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy format is scheduled for this week. It's one of my most important priorities, so there's no time to be sick at all. Although I'll be in self-isolation, I plan to work in the usual mode, without slowing down. If the talks don't take place this week, it's definitely not my fault," he wrote.

He urges not neglecting of quarantine rules.

"Wear masks, wash your hands. Keep a distance, and keep calm. The speed of the virus depends on it.

Always remember your loved ones and all the people who may be at risk. Life is too interesting to waste time on illness and a grim mood," Yermak said.
