Volodymyr Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with Emmanuel Macron. The presidents agreed that the meeting in the "Norman format" should take place as soon as possible.

The Office of the President reports.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed his condolences to Emmanuel Macron and the French people in connection with the recent tragic events and the deaths of French citizens during the terrorist attacks.

The presidents discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to join forces to overcome this large-scale challenge.

"I want to confirm my support for your initiative to establish the production of strategic medical goods and equipment in Europe. We are ready to provide all potential support in establishing such production with Ukrainian companies as manufacturers of protective masks, gowns, and disinfectants," Zelenskyi said.

As reported, the presidents also focused on implementing the Paris summit agreements. Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that since July 27 this year, when a package of additional measures was introduced to consolidate the ceasefire, the longest ceasefire since the beginning of the war in Donbas has been going on.

"The ceasefire is largely observed, although provocative ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups are still ongoing. An important result is no civilian casualties because of hostilities. Meanwhile, two Ukrainian servicemen were killed and two others were wounded by targeted escalation," the President of Ukraine told.

He also reported that despite several reciprocal releases of detainees and progress in the war zone, many of the agreements of the Normandy 4 leaders are still not being implemented such as the access of the International Committee of the Red Cross and OSCE to the temporarily occupied territory.

Macron supported his Ukrainian colleague in holding the talks between the leaders of the "Norman format" countries as soon as possible. He also praised Volodymyr Zelenskyi's peace initiatives and Ukraine's efforts to de-mine and deploy troops in Donbas. The French head of state assured that Ukraine can count on his determination to help end the war.

Zelenskyi stressed that Ukraine is consistently fulfilling the Paris Summit agreements and is ready to open two checkpoints of entry and exit in the anti-terrorist operation zone on the demarcation line.

The parties also discussed the situation around the rulings of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. Emmanuel Macron stressed that he considers the reforms carried out by Ukraine important, in particular in the banking sector. He noted that some of these reforms require determination and wisdom.

Zelenskyi assured that Ukraine will do everything possible to preserve the anti-corruption pattern and such important reforms as the banking reform, land reform, and activity of the Deposit Guarantee Fund.

The presidents also discussed improving trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

Finally, Emmanuel Macron said he would keep his word on his visit to Kyiv as soon as possible.
