Ukraine may introduce a "weekend" quarantine - Minister of Health
The Ministry of Health is considering reinforcing quarantine measures, including the introduction of weekend quarantine.
The Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov told about it on the air of "Breakfast with 1+1" show.
"We are considering strengthening quarantine restrictions. I don't rule out that we will offer weekend quarantine. It means restrictions will be more extreme on weekends. We are doing it to break the chain of disease transmission," Stepanov said.
According to him, it means, on Saturday-Sunday, public catering won't work, except for the "takeaway" service. Some stores may be closed.
Regarding the introduction of curfew, Stepanov noted that its precondition is the introduction of a state of emergency in the country.
"A state of emergency is imposed by a decision of the National Security and Defense Council, then by a presidential decree, then the Verkhovna Rada (approves – ed.). We don't recommend (the introduction of curfew – ed.)," Stepanov said.
